Met CRU Revises Global Temperatures - DOWNWARDS

Earlier this year, we learned that the Earth's average temperature has essentially remained the same, for 16 years

As noted in the article above, the Met CRU did this very quietly, shortly after proclaiming that this would be one of the hottest years 'ever.'

Within days of that inconvenient fact being made public, those who back the meme of 'man-made,' or Anthropogenic, global warming, have been furiously trying to make this truth out as a bit of nothing, fluff, meaningless. The world is cooking, and it is YOUR fault.

Yet the temperatures continued to disagree with their efforts

It's that time of year again when some call the global annual average temperature for the year, even though there are still two months of data remaining. Such a premature declaration is done for political reasons, such as the current UN climate meeting in Doha.

The UK Met Office, on the 28th November 2012, issued a 'State of global temperatures in 2012,' and it makes interesting reading.

The Met Office uses three "leading global temperature datasets" to conclude that the average temperature of 2012 is 0.45 +/- 0.10 deg C above the 1961-90 average. They add that these error bars mean that 2012 could be between the 4th and the

In truth, there has been an extremely slight rise in temperature. Depending on which measurement series used- there are three datasets- the overall temperature increase has been about .03 C per decade. That is to say, .003 degrees C (.oo54 F) per year, as an average.

Hideously dangerous, no?

No?

NO!

The IPCC themselves, according to thousands of runs of the 20-plus climate models- each once varying in a number of factors, many of which they don't even have the FIRST clue how to model, such as negative feedbacks (water vapour, clouds, albedo, among others)- have claimed that there was only a 3% likelihood of such a standstill in temperatures ever happening in the first place!

But it gets better.

Very recently, it was announced that 2012 was the 9th hottest year on record- oddly enough, only out of the last 34 (starting in 1979).

1979? Is there a reason they chose to start from the end of the most recent- and deepest- cooling period, which the Earth had seen, in the last 130 years?*

That's like the claim that the US drought of 2012 was the worst in 50 years- it very neatly avoids the fact that the 50s droughts were far deeper, and totally ignores that the Dust Bowl era- which was, in fact, world-wide- went far beyond anything the US experienced last year.

Or the claim that the mild 2011-2012 winter in Springfield, Missouri, was the 'warmest in 40 years.'
Which also neatly avoided the FACT that there was a much warmer winter, day for day, in the mid-60s. And that was only one of several, going back even farther.

But I digress. Twice, even.

So it was announced that 2012 was the 9th warmest. Hardly the 'warmest EVUH!,' hey?

But since making that announcement, the Met CRU has done something interesting:

They have revised future projections of global temperature- DOWNWARD.

The charts at the top show the change in projections which they have made.

They quietly change the charts to show a DECREASE in global temps down the road, Yet the Met CRU continues to push the meme that AGW will cook the world.

They hope you won't notice. The MSM, politicians and politically/ideologically-appointed scientists, are not about to point these things out to you.

There's no need to live in fear of the weather. In the last 10,000 years, we have experienced Much warmer times.

It has been posited, in fact, that major swings in climate- and on time scales comparable to the last 130 years- have been a major player in human evolution [link]

Indeed, there are a number of papers in the past decade, which indicate that wild swings in climate can occur in a matter of decades.

New papers come in almost daily, on climate change. As time goes by, more and more of them are pointing AWAY from the catastrophic prophecies of the IPCC.

The Unproven theory of 'man-made' global warming- really, as many claim, little more than a hypothesis- is failing. Rapidly.

And they do NOT want you to know that.

* Why 130 years? I wasn't quite sure of that myself, as I had known, for a long time, that the 'official' end of the LIA, was around 1850.
However, as it turns out, 1880 is when everyone began to keep daily, detailed, scientific temperature measurements. Before that point, there are records going back to over 400 years, in various places- but they are sporadic and spotty. So we really do not have a very good idea of what temps were like prior to that, outside of paleohistory work, with such things as sediments and fossils.
